Dearest Ones,
We find ourselves once again in a sea of black delight. A new moon has fallen upon us, leaving us wrapped in a comforting blanket of darkness.
While we adore the full moon for her bright and beautiful luminance, we worship the New Moon for her deep rooted wisdom. New beginnings, introspection and a time to take stock of personal growth are what New Moons are all about. This is a time to pause and listen. This New Moon in particular calls for celebration of new beginnings across the world as it rings in Hijri, the Islamic New Year.
This month the New Moon sits in Cancer. In astrology, Cancer is represented by a crab, but Cancers are anything but crabby! Insead, Cancers are known for characteristics of compassion, sensitivity and neutering but also for their values on self protection. This water sign will be causing big waves of emotion that demand our instant attention.
The new moon is always time for contemplation and this Cancer energy will bring that full force. Cancer also urges us to move slowly and with intention, putting ourselves first so that we may allow ourselves to heal. This brings with it a reminder that we cannot show up for others if we aren't first showing up for ourselves.
Small but meaningful rituals are the perfect way to take stock on where we are flourishing and where in our garden needs some extra attention. Journaling, quiet moments in nature and meditation are some of our favourite ways to reconnect with our inner selves. We also love using our Charms as a tool to set intentions for the day.
Today our Warrior of Love Charm reminds us just how important it is to always choose love, honing in on Cancer’s compassionate spirit. This magical piece features two souls standing side by side, co-existing in their noble flight for love. Love for others and love for the self. How will you show up for yourself this new moon, Goddesses?
